Lyric Videos of Lightfoot Songs
 

Last month, an official lyric video of Gordon Lightfoot's song "Return Into Dust" became available:

The lyric video was created by Connor Scheffler, a graphic designer and content creator based in Toronto.

Earlier in 2020, Connor Scheffler created lyric videos of two other songs on Lightfoot's Solo album:

I think all three lyric videos are impressive, but my favourite among the three is the one for "Return Into Dust".

In the lyric video for "Return Into Dust", I particularly like the depictions of Lightfoot's canary yellow canoe and of newspapers with headlines ("Army Called In Detroit Rioting" and "Find No Survivors of Fitzgerald - 729 Footer Sinks in Gale With All Hands in Superior") about events that Lightfoot wrote songs about.

Does anyone else have a favourite among the three lyric videos?

I really like all three. My favourite song of the three (and of the whole CD) is "Oh, So Sweet." Re: the lyric video, my favourite is the video for "Return Into Dust." I like the combination of the writing of the lyrics as you see the actual artifacts that relate to the songs he wrote.

I love OH So Sweet.. In April when Gordon called me I told him that was another ''legacy'' song for him. Sadly reminds me of the late John Prine's "I Remember Everything" in it's reminisce style...

I have to agree all thee are good. I do lean toward Return Unto Dust, though.
It's so good to be getting out and about again. My whole family (4 of us) had the Covid virus. I had an upper respiratory infection on top of it. The whole thing put me off my feet for almost 3 weeks. Lost 30 pounds in the process. But thank the Lord, we are all okay now.
