I've loved Gordon Lightfoot's music since the 70's. He (and his music) have held a very special place in my heart and my life for many years now.

This is my first post to this Board but I've been scrolling about it for a couple of weeks now.

Hey! I've got a name: "Lighthead" ... like it very much ~

Greetings to you all and how nice to see that this very special person has such a wonderful, loving following

"Shy" - that's me (truly) but I'll give it a go anyway . . .

My husband and I have been together since '76 - we (only) have three of his albums (yes, "albums" that's how far back we go):
~ Gord's Gold
~ Summertime Dream
~ Shadows
He and his music mean so much to us on so many different levels. His music and our early days are so intertwined, in a very lovely way. His love songs, his historical tales and legends, the depth of each and every one of them, I could go on and on.

Until recently, we had kind of lost track of and forgotten how very wonderful and meaningful his music is to us.

Many moons ago we heard him in Carnegie Hall. Recently, in Concord, NH. Need I say how much that meant to us? To see him strong, healthy, happy and singing his heart out for us all.

As for me, personally, I could just sit here and look at those album covers. That's the Gord I love, slightly scruffy, very handsome and oh how sexy

A warm welcome Ann.in retrospect though it is a great pity that you had not announced yourself a few weeks ago
a number of us met up in The Common Man in Concord before the concert see report at:-

Getting together in Concord would have been nice thanks

With regard to Toronto, unfortunately, this year won't work for us. I'm hoping for next year.

How wonderful to hear him in Massey Hall and he'll be there for his birthday, won't he? Wow! :D

Yes he'll be front and centre on Nov.17 for his 68th birthday....I imagine there will be a few folks singing Happy Birthday to him!

If he is back at Massey following the schedule he has had for years of every 18 months that will bring him back there for May 2008.

Hopefully we'll all meet up then!

Welcome on board Ann. You'll enjoy the company of these wonderful folks. I was once on the outside looking in and when those doors opened, they opened wide with warmth and lots of comfort. Ron Jones.

Welcome aboard, Ann. Stick around and post often. Don't do like Ann in Carefree Highway and leave us without knowing what to do. We get in trouble when that happens.
