In retrospect it was kind of the Canadians not to consider this an act of war -what did the Canadians do to deserve it ?
But it WAS an act of war. Look at all the French riots in the 60s and 70s. Now we know the REAL reason...

I agree with you.Todays' music is lousy,in my opinion. The kids don't even know who THE MAN is.They don't know what music sounded like
back when you could listen to it,and still hear yourself think.
One thing for sure... my kids know who Gordon Lightfoot is. Dan sang IYCRMM at his graduation, with me doing the guitar. The song brought tears to the eyes of many of his female classmates, and his principal, a 55 year old woman, just sat there in awe. Nobody knew Dan could sing. And every now and then I hear Matt attempt to play the lead to Wreck.

They don't have to be kids, I am sure some of you read the account of me being stopped by a Ct. State Police man when I was coming back from the Torrington concert last year. He asked where I was coming from and I told him. He didn't know who Gordon was and he was in his late 20's or older. So not just kids.
I heard Ian & Sylvia sing Early Mornin Rain back in the early 60's folk music era, and noticed who the writer was, heard him sing it on the radio also, and bought his LP. From then on, I always paid attention to his music and would buy his LPs. I never did see any bootlegs in my travels though. I burned all the LPs to cd's about 8 years ago, and sold them off, all except the signed LPs. Now, I even have all the songs I like on flash/thumb drives which I use in my car/trucks. Yep, the Man is a musical genius, I will always be in awe of his all around talent.

You two are a fine pair of disrespectful young whippersnappers
I had anticipated the irrelevant response from down under
but I am most disapointed to see that Swedish civility has escaped you David
I assume by "French" David that you meant French Canadians not those storming the Bastille all over again in Europe in the 60's
'sides it was NOT me who incited Les Quebecois to plant bombs in mailboxes but a French Hero from an earlier war
