Of course you are correct in your ‘American Way’, but you must realise the UK is totally confused when it comes to temperature scales.

Not only that area, though.
We mix Imperial and Metric quite openly.

I worked in science where everything was metric, but still measure mainly in inches for domestic tasks such as garden furniture construction.
Our fruit and vegetables are sold in Pounds and paid for in decimalised currency.

My LPs are still referred to as being 12 inches in dia.
You ask for a pint of beer, not 568 millilitres.

So, I will enjoy the sun however its temperature is measured...

Anyone know that singer or singers backing Gordon up in the song?

You hear someone singing bass in the verse "If you come down where the mill shuts down etc.

Couldn't find anything on it.

Usually Lightfoot himself arranged and performed all of his own harmonies. This is the case In Summertime Dream. He had quite a range in his younger days.

But, the band did appear in the harmonies uncredited in a couple of songs. For instance, you can hear Terry’s distinctive bass in Dream Street Rose and Betty Called Me In. Both Haynes and Clements are credited singers on Cold on the Shoulder.

Perhaps the best example of Gord’s ability to arrange his own harmonies, is in the song All I’m After. Amazing work.
