It's almost 5 am my time and you can tell I'm truly bored lol... was looking around on Wikipedia and I was shocked to learn that Massey Hall has an indirect link to Brantford ON, where I live.

Years ago Massey Ferguson was THE largest employer in Brantford before it went belly up in the 1980's.

Basically the Massey family behind the company were also instrumental in providing financing for the building of Massey Hall in Toronto.

Thanks for the post, Gord. I didn't know that the actor, Raymond Massey (Dr. Gillespie on "Dr. Kildare"), was also connected. Learn something new every day!

The Massey family has strong connections with Toronto and Brantford amongst other locations.

Hart Massey donated the land at Shuter and Victoria streets and hired the architect on which Massey Hall was built as a memorial to his son Charles Albert Massey.

While visiting Toronto last November, some of you may have eaten at the 'Keg Mansion' just north-east of Massey Hall. Now a restauraunt, it at one time was home to the Massey family. (rumoured to be haunted) Check out below;

Hart Massey's son Chester D. Massey had the Brantford connection with the Massey-Ferguson Tractor Company. He had two sons, Vincent who went on to become a 'Governor General' (the Queen's Representative) of Canada and his son Raymond who became the actor which Sheila Ann speaks of.
Check out Vincent and Raymond at;

Quite the influencial family!
