Icewine Anyone ?

On Sunday night I shared a 200ml bottle of Lakeview Cellars Icewine Riesling (2007) - based on the Niagara Peninsula with my wife to celebrate exactly 2 years since we visited Toronto for an all too brief 4 days. My total lifetime Canadian experience. (Lame eh ? !) We bought the wine as a part of a stop- off on a return minibus trip on the way back after visiting Niagara Falls on Sat 17 Nov. 2012 –the last concert date in the Massey Hall series.
3 of those 4 days we were there because of Gordon’s concerts and the 4th day waiting on a plane to return to London (we did manage a walking trip on Toronto Island that last day). The weather in 2012 was a bit different to his year I understand (unless it turns for the better when the concerts begin). Thanks to the generosity of various people who inhabit this website (they know who they are) , combined with the kindness of various friends and family of band members I settled a Bucket List item for myself . Seeing Gordon & his Minstrels in Massey Hall had been playing on my mind for many years . Seeing and absorbing the whole experience from the seats so generously allotted was unbelievable and something I will never forget.
Anyway the Icewine Riesling was great - we probably should have bought more but space in our bags was premium and glass bottles all the way to Sydney via London was a worry –we were already carrying stacks of Irish Crystal after a few weeks in the Emerald Isle!
Best wishes to those I bumped into along the way on those magical days and for you devotees backing up to do it all again in a week or so I can only express pure and unadulterated JEALOUSY.
