A year or so there was a little discussion here on this song. Rumor had it that Gordon wrote the lyrics but that the music might be Loudermilk's.
Recently I got the opportunity to interview John D Loudermilk, and also asked him if he had a hand in writing the song. "No I did not. If my name is on it, it should not be on it. He played the guitar on that. He came down from Canada and played on the session".
