Paul Simon - "It's Worth Beleivin' ".

Mariah Carey (I don't wanna hear it! :D ) -
"My Love For You" and "Shadows" (as long as she doesn't invite a rapper or R&B it up too much. )

James Taylor - "Triangle"

Neil Diamond - "Poor Little Allison" I can hear him in my head right now doing that one.

If Jim Morrison was still alive,I'd have loved to hear his & The Doors renditon of "Protocol",if he dared to do a cover that is.

(No controversy please) If MJ were still popular,I think he could do a really funky,"Baby Step Back" ala "Billie Jean".

I would also like to hear younger artist Norah Jones do a really mellow,"I'll Tag Along".

I guess that's about it for now. Later!

Nah, I don't think she'd have a problem with the words. It's suggestive without being crude. Besides...we've come a long way baby! We're in an age where women can be bold and say whatever they want. No apologies!

Go for it Shania!

Yikes! I may be 33, but I want to sleep with the light on and my teddy bear held close after I see him (Marilyn)! That man scares me.

Of course I was joking. M.M. doing Pony Man lol, or even Ozzie. To me, it would be a comedy. These people are not dangerous... :D Jesse.

Sorry Timetraveler, No I was just joking as I often do. Marylin Manson is a smart man. Not dangerous at all, but can you picture him doing The Pony Man? I would really get a laugh out of that. Whats new with you, other than answering these posts? JJ.

Whilst he is not a huge favourite of mine
I always fancied the idea of Frank Sinatra covering "That Same Old Obsession" which I have always regarded as Gord's
nearest attempt to emulate Ol' Blue Eyes.
And unless I am mistaken didn't Frankie once admit defeat in trying to interpret IYCRMM "His Way"??
Ok that is my serious answer
Other thoughts
Dolly Parton MAGNIFICENT OUTPOURING
George Michael I'D DO IT AGAIN

Juice Newton (ANYTHING)...FOR LOVE

Tut tut J-J there I was thinking that you must know virtually everything about Mr Lightfoot and had undoubtedly read just about everything available and now after a rudimentary google I find that here on this very site and therefore right under your nose at:-
http://www.corfid.com/gl/press/press51.htm
It is writ as follows aboot Gord:-
"But he also was part of the mainstream music business -- if only because he was signed to Reprise, the label founded by Frank Sinatra. "I had a very profound respect for Mr. Sinatra," he says.

In fact, Sinatra nearly recorded several of his songs.

"There was talk of it, and an attempt was made to do 'If You Could Read My Mind,' but it wasn't working for him," Lightfoot says. "Another time, I got a phone call from Frank Sinatra, and he asked me to put together a package for him, and I did; I put together five tunes that are in my catalog, but they didn't rise to the occasion either. I was very honored, though, that he would have asked."

If Sinatra never recorded a Lightfoot tune, there were plenty who did."
John Fowles
And now of course the $64,000 question "What were those 5 "tunes""??
Discuss!!!

I think "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" would be the only one that would fit but "Soft, romantic, as well as sensual," that is exactly what the fit is. I have her "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" cd and from there alone is proof enough. Check it out.
