Earlier this week I went to a CD store here in Malaga, Spain. Out of curiosity I checked to see if they had any Lightfoot CDs (I'm an exchange student from Canada). They did have a copy of "The Way I Feel", but it was labelled under "Gordon Lightfood". Nevertheless, good to hear that Gord's CDs are in demand here too!!

That is so funny. The Way I Feel is out of print here I hope you picked it up. Your title sounds like you were opening a restaurant.

There was a "Lightfood" concert on one of the torrent sites last year. It was the real thing, just a typo from the uploader.

One of the better online ordering outlets here in Sweden has 12 GL CDs available - 4 compilations and 8 originals - so he is still out there in Europe, even if the airplay isn't what it used to be.

It wouldn't surprise me if that was an intentional mis-spelling,in other words, the worker's opinion of music he most likely hasn't heard.

I had a chance early last year to buy TWIF on CD but the store wanted almost $20 for it!

It's one thing to pay $17 for the (then) hard to find near mint vinyl copy I bought in '02,but twenty for a CD that really, only fans like us would buy in the first place?

Other record store shoppers would look at that & go "Who?" and "Why is he worth $20?"
and then--->

On another note, when you feel like your in the mood to listen to Lightfoot,it is sort of proper to say that it's "food" for the ears! :D

Producer Quincy Jones calls good music "ear candy",in Gord's case it's either Candyland or a good steak (depending on the song).

Hmm..would that make the sailing songs "fish fillets"? :D

Has anyone here ever eaten at this establishment, in Leesburg, Virginia.

Oddly enough, owned by an Ingrid & Carrie...

I suspect that at one tinme Gord became quite
popular in both Spain and Portugal
ebay occasionally has Spanish auctions like the current one for the Spanish Sundown single

and an earlier one for the Spanish IYCRMM b/w Me and Robert Magee

At our local Barnes & Noble, they had 5 or 6 different Lightfoot CD's last time I looked, and they were not the compilations. That "Folk Music" section is pretty dang small though, unfortunately.

When I was in Greece in the summer of 2004, I saw a copy of "Harmony" in Crete. Go figure!

I guess Gord can be hard to categorize sometimes. Back in the good old days when record shops sold vinyl and actually had a large selection to choose from, Gord could be found anywhere in folk, country, pop, rock, singer-songwriter, or even Canadiana! But the search was fun and it was always a delight to hit the jackpot. "THERE he is!!!" :D

Those were the days when record shops had so much stuff and were so much fun, you could spend half a day in one and still not have time to get everything you wanted!

One of my biggest adventures as a kid was when my dad and I would travel from Orillia to Toronto once every couple of months and hit the big record stores on downtown Yonge Street. At that time I think there was just Sam's and A&A, but they had so much music, it's all that was needed.

And yes, even back in my childhood I was buying GL music. :D
