Default Concert in Flagstaff AZ

I saw this on Facebook today. Posted by Dan B Swartz who was in attendance:

Not to alarm anyone, but Gordon nearly passed out performing tonight, midway through his first set. They rushed out on stage with oxygen, and after a few minutes he insisted on continuing the show. Stubborn. The altitude here in Flagstaff is over 7,000 feet. It obviously got to Gordon. Out of respect for the dignity of Gordon, I did not photograph him when he was keeled over in distress. Sadly, many did take photos. Ugh. — attending Gordon Lightfoot at Ardrey Auditorium at NAU Ardrey Memorial Auditorium.

Hopefully it was nothing to worry about and the tour will continue as well as the show.

Was anyone here at the show? I know Borderstone lives out that way but he's already posted his own sad concert tale.

This is a concern. Hopefully it was just the altitude getting to Gord, as the poster said, and not something more.

How typical of Gord to continue the show - a true professional

Thanks for letting us know Bill.

Its probably all based from when he had walking pneumonia a few years ago and has been on some medications for his breathing since then.

Yes, it was just an altitude thing. He's fine. Saw him in San Antonio last night and will see him tonight here in Austin. Nice to have the guys down here in Texas again.

That's good to hear. I like eye witness reports, thanks.

Don't forget, Gord has emphysema and his lungs can't adapt to changes in environment the way a person with healthy lungs (and younger) can adapt.

I heard from his wife and it's all good, as soon as they got to lower elevation and a good sleep he was fine. They all felt the altitude sickness apparently.
