Default on this date in history.

8 years ago in Orillia Lightfoot faced his own mortality at age 63.

7 years ago Warren Zevon lost his life to cancer at age 56.

22 years ago Keith Moon, drummer for the Who died of a drug overdose at age 31.

Actually - Keith passed in 1978 at 32. Did you mean 32 years ago?
WOW - that's half of his life on earth ago!
I'm not trying to be a wiki -it's just that that date caught my attention.

What does "Moved" mean? I am not familiar with thread protocol or jargon.
Thanks

one for our moderator to better reply to but my take is:

often she and florian will have a small gathering at home plate and discuss whether a topic is Gord or not Gord (ie. small talk) related

in this case it was concluded that the On This Date In History thread WAS in fact gord related, not just Small Talk and therefore "MOVED" to the Gord General Discussion thread

in conclusion, fear not, your replies live on

keith moon died in 1978. that was 32 years ago if you do the math.
he had just turned 32. age 31 was recorded at the website I read..
he's been dead as many years as he was alive..32 years.

a thread that is moved will have a redirect to the new location. all replies will follow to the new location. redirects usually last a month.

When I spotted that are moderator person had replied today ("911" in Americaspeak, because unlike most of the sane world the americans use the reversed date convention so that what a Canuck or Brit understands by
11/9 or 11th September to an American has to be written 9/11 a handily remembered sequence since 911 just so happens to be the police fire/ambulance emergency phone number used in the USA which is therefore emblazoned on the local cop cars. Conversely in the UK for perfectly valid reasons connected with how ones fingers are inserted in one of the
"elder Jones" rotary dial telephone the common emergency number is 999.
Whatever 9/11 in history is another day of infamy perpetrated by misguided religious zealots in the name of God, I believe thus adding to the huge total of sins against humanity attributable to religion. end of religious discussion
I was reminded of 9/11 today when we drove north to Nutley NJ for a birthday celebration from where earlier on a perfectly clear day it was possible to see across the Hudson to Manhatten and today the Empire State Building was particularly prominent. Then returning after dark all the way back to our home town down the Garden State Parkway a memorial tribute vertical beam of light rising from Ground Zero was clearly visible and were it not for the trees in our back yard (which faces towards the East I would have obtained a photo to display here. But it would not have been anywhere near as good as this shot taken from the New Jersey side that also shows Lady Liberty

However this evening from every angle that I could see from there was only a single shaft of light but I had previously seen the pair representing the two towers that were felled 9 years ago (a month after my sister and family had gone to the top of one tower).
