A shot I took a few years ago of Gordon Lightfoot. What I find interesting is that he has this incredible mansion and yet right on his porch is a standard lawn chair.
This is the by-line attached to the above photo,. What does the writer expect Gord to have? A throne!

I think what she's saying is that in front of a multi million dollar home you would expect some price matching outdoor furniture (perhaps cast concrete benches) yet for Gord it's just fine to be sittin' in his aluminum and pvc slatted Canadian Tire lawn chair..cuz he's just an Ordinary Man..

Very befitting, he looks like he's enjoying the day. Besides, judging from his cool shoes he looks like he could either be on his way to or just home from bowling. I think he looks rather dapper.

Edit June 25, 2009

Two song lyrics come to mind here:

1) "living a life of ease don't make your meals taste better if you please" from Someone To Believe In

and

2) "taking dead aim on fortune and fame you might say, playing guitar doesn't make you a star anyway" from I'll Do Anything

I've said it before but so much of his appeal is his humbleness despite his success and fame. It makes him all the more charming.

Obviously that is exactly what was expected. Myself, I think that he is just a wonderful, down to earth sort of person.

An old-fashioned glider would be ideal, fancy metalwork or solid maple. It's wonderful to sit in the sun or catch the breeze with a gentle rocking motion.
