in today's paper there is an article regarding immigrants and the point
system that is used to allowed people into Canada. They have taken Canadian
"icons" and rated them - Gord wouldn't be allowed into the country!
he scored 62 and he needs 75!
he gets 5 for education, 16 for language, 21 for experience and 10 each for
arranged employment and adaptability. if he reversed the digits in his age
from 62 to 26 he'd get another 10 but still below 75!
lol
Char
others not allowed in are:
Bryan Adams (72)
Guy Lafleur (hockey) (73)
Oscar Peterson (jazz) (59-65)
Sarah McLachlan (72)
Pierre Berton (writer) (79-85)
Wayne Gretzky (hockey) (67)

Char,

It seems that with being Canadian, then, comes an intangible, immeasurable quality received as a birthright bestowed by geography. We mere mortals in other countries need to exhibit qualities that can be plotted and graphed like a golf handicap just to be considered equal to those of you bearing the gold standard of civility.

(think that would that get me any points toward citizenship?)
