I'm a fan of Glen Campbell for his wonderful ballads and pop songs in the 1960's to 1980's. I saw him in concert at Sparks, Nevada on 3-28-1998. I still have 45's which have Gentle on my mind, Rhinestone Cowboy, Wichita Lineman, Country Boy, By the time I get to Phoenix, Arkansas.

Very sad news.
Glen was here in Toronto during the sixties and he was a friend of Gord's. He wasn't very well known so Gord helped him out with gigs etc. He sure does add a sparkle to Gord's songs. I still have my 45 rpm record of "The Last Time" by Glen and it's always been a joy listening to his crystal clear voice coming through in that that very well arranged orchestral version.

Glen seemed to be a genuine small town guy..much like Gordon. I loved his tv show and how much fun he always seemed to have...

Very true Char.
Being small town guys is probably what bonded them in those early days.
I loved it when Glen and John Hartford connected and did their stuff on the show.
When I think back, wouldn't it have been great if Gord had made an appearance on the show in those days?
It was such a wonderful era that we were fortunate to have experienced.
Sure wish it was all back.
