Default A Brief History of Massey Hall

Hi all,

This is a good read on Massey Hall's early days. I remember performing there as a 'boy soprano' on that stage in the early 60's. It's one of the classiest concert venues around.

Nice to meet you the other night! Yes, Massey is a classy and iconic hall with the best sound around. The Churchof Gord on Shuter holds countless memories for so many people regardless of what artists graced the stage.

It is some years since I was in Toronto, about 14 years ago, I made my way to Massey Hall just to check it out, and was sad to see that face of this historical building had been blighted by a fire escape. If my memory serves me well there are 2 in an A formation. Necessary I know but sad when an old friend is blighted in this way. Some years ago when some architect proposed adding an appendage to the front of The National Gallery in London. Prince Charles was less than impressed and referred to it as "A Monstrous Carbuncle on the face of an old friend." Caused a stir.

PS. Charlene you must have your work cut out deleting all the C**P that some jokers are posting, why do they do it?
