I just realized that this month marks 2 sad occaisions in the world of popular music.

February 9th (yesterday) marks 24 years since Bill Haley passed away at age 55. If he were here now,he be turning 80 this year.

Also,(in relation to the topic)I went to BEST Buy yesterday and bought "Carperters Gold" 35 Anniversay Collection CD. I later realized that the 4th was the 22nd anniversary of Karen Carpenters untimly passing.
I remember being in school and hearing on the radio in our morning class about her death. I had only known their music for about 5 or 6 years at that time.

Just taking a moment to remember how both acts madee such great music. They'll never be forgotten.

You know when I was kid my dad was ALWAYS playing that Carpenter's stuff and my ears cringed cuz well you know I didn't like that mushy stuff. From a drummer's viewpoint now, I didn't realize that Karen was the drummer as well as the vocalist..and I know full well how difficult it is to sing and play drums at the same time and I guess I had a new found respect for her abilities as a musician even I don't necessarily like every thing they did song wise
