Well All Right I am going to display this great picture sleeve because once again it has just come up for auction on ebay, and I just love it and no doubt several newer members here are unaware of it:-

Note how "Sundown" is translated into Spanish......not
The auction is at:-

"Demasiado tarde para rezar" would be Spanish for "Too Late for Prayin'".

I'd jump at it in second if it were in mint condition. I know it's Gord but I like to get things in as great a shape as possible.

It's the jacket folks.
I think it's the same one he wore on the back of Gord's Gold 1 and the front cover of Don Quixote.
Put that thing up for sale!

Another copy of The Sundown Gord plus dog picture sleeve single is on ebay but this time the Japanese issue with the titles in Japanese script/font at:-
http://cgi.ebay.com/GORDON-LIGHTFOOT...QQcmdZViewItem

so come on all you Japanese scholars translate those two lines pronto
(There are heavy clues in the discussion above of the earlier spanish example I displayed)
John Fowles
I recntly mentioned an international outfit eil-esprit who sometimes sell odd vinyl on ebay I just found their Lightfoot web page at:-
http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=329201
and noted this Japanese issue SSOL sleeve

according to eil's blurb the thing wrapped around the sleve on the left is known as an "obi" (sash)
Listen to the pictures flow Across the room into your mind they go ...
I can picture ev'ry move that a man could make
a face So out of place Inside that picture frame Of lace
office parties and wedding pals and tacky pictures on the walls
and wander in my words and dream about the pictures that I play of changes
(lyrics by Phil Ochs not GL)

I couldn't find a proper thread to post this in,so I chose this one, since it does relate to 45rpm picture sleeves.

I was on wikipedia and found this rarity!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Are...rt_performance

The actual picture sleeve for "You Are What I Am"/"That Same Old Obsession". [cool]
