rm, thanks...interesting but here goes the image i'd had in my head previously...i had stereotypically assumed everyone in there would be grey haired and wrinkly (basically a factory full of Gepettos)

The Martin factory is a great place to visit. I've been lucky enough to live within no more than two hours from it pretty much my whole life. Thirty years ago you could just walk in any time and see all sorts of stuff depending on the day. Now it's a once a day standard tour but still a great little time.

fascinating stuff..I recently watched a show about the making of pianos..I love that kind of tv.
We have a show up here called "How It's Made" - very informative!

Very cool. I shot video of the factory back in 1993, and interviewed CF IV, Dick Boak, ans the late Mike Longworth...magical experience. I'd like to do Taylor some day.
Guitar builder are magicians, but they usually have an "aw shucks" attitude.
