Gordon Lightfoot Loves The Great Bloomers

"Gordon Lightfoot usually claims he doesn't have a CD player," says Lauren Schreiber, manager of Toronto band The Great Bloomers, "so you can imagine the shock when he walked in and asked for their CD."
According to Schreiber, Lightfoot is a known regular at Ring Music, a vintage guitar shop in Toronto where Great Bloomers' lead singer and songwriter Lowell Sostomi works. The owner of the store would often tell Lightfoot about the virtues of his young employee's band until it finally clicked and he asked for their latest album Speak of Trouble.
"He listened to it, loved it and then had to tell Lowell about it. I guess he kept leaving messages at the store until he finally got a hold of Lowell and proceeded to tell him all the great things about the album," continued Schreiber.
The band requested an official quote from Lightfoot that they could use in print and it reads as follows,
"SPEAK OF TROUBLE highlights the abilities of Lowell Sostomi as singer/songwriter and brings together a talented band of musicians with amazing dexterity, loads of energy, and very original arrangements. I'm impressed." - GORDON LIGHTFOOT.
Wow.
