This song just impacts with me when Gord gets to the part of :
"oh I cried inside,but, I couldn't tell if it was for her or for me."
A very interesting turn of words... it strikes me odd that Gord is so personal in his poetic song writing. When you think about it, how many of us would actually let down our guard to the entire world and speak of our trembling inner-most self? (Better known to you other run-offs as the tender underbelly of the dragon)...It seems so personal, what we all feel. Or not?

I don't believe he wrote that song. I seem to remember a thread here about the writer of that song.

Most of the song writers I prefer roll over on their backs frequently and expose their belly and neck. I've been listening to John Hiatt's Crossing Muddy Waters. That CD just hurts in places.
