Does anyone know where to look at sales figures for Harmony--and other Gl albums as well.

We all recognize he's the greatest troubador of our time, and I wonder how many people are NOT missing out on this fabulous gift to us all.

Howdy WishingWellGhost (I like that,)

An organization called SoundScan keeps detailed accounts of such things, which is why the next #1 on the charts is often announced two weeks ahead.

I don't know if they release any numbers, except to Record Companies, etc., but I, too, would like to know that answer.

Good question,

Hi WWG! Borderstone here! As far as the sales of Harmony go,I know they weren't spectacular. My best eveidence is last year,I checked every weekly Billboard album chart to see if it would make it into the top 200 at least. It didn't but I can guarantee it was bought by true GL fans all over the world. I'd say here in the U.S. the number was most likley below 100,000 but I'll be bold and say more than 25,000. I'm an optimist!

Hey Ghost,

I discovered SoundScan is more than happy to release their figures to anyone who pays their fee . . . Pass on this end for sure.

Industry companies have a different arrangement. But, no doubt, involves bucks.

Those of us in Harmony here know more than just hip-hop.

I had to buy a used copy from my favorite CD store online because I could never find a new copy anywhere. So maybe the figures you get aren't completely accurate?

Jeffyjo,

Rediscover Music has the best selection of folk music available - all new. That's where I replaced all my LP's of Gord & John Stewart.

I hope you'll be presently surprised. They'll find what you're looking for, even if they no longer have it in stock.

I rely on Rediscover Music.

Rediscover Music, eh? (& ya thought I couldn't speak Canuck!). I'll have to check that out.

One of the reasons I was curious about Harmony sales is that I fervently hope it was enough to encourage another GL album in the future.

After what Gord's been through, he's got "many a tale to tell".

I wonder if he knows how much we'd love to see his poetry or hear any verbage at all from the ultimate Wordsmith?

"Oh Jeffy Jo,where do you go,to get a fresh "Harmony" tonight?"

I highly reccomend you try Best Buy,I don't know where you are but the one near my apt. always seems to have one or two. If they have Borders where you are,try that as well and finally any specialty music stores that deal in unusual selections. Happy huntin'!

Gee, if anyone knows the answer to this one, I'd sure like to know, too! Val? Jenney? Anyone "in on the know?"
