Ladies and Gentlemen,

In about two weeks, the Winter Olympics kick off in Salt Lake City. As preparation for this event, we should all get ourselves in shape for the GORDOlympics.

First Event -- the Marathon [Race Among the Ruins]

Second Event -- Sailing [down a summer wind ...in the lee of Christian Island]

Third Event -- Weight Lifting [Ring them (bar)bells]

That's enough for me for the time being. Any other competitors for GORD'S GOLD medals?

LOL

OK, you've made it thru the qualifying heats. Anyone else?

There's a good one available for the Discus.

Must get in early for this one !!.

Brave Mountaineers.... All the downhill skiers

Canary Yellow Canoe.... Rowing

I'd rather "press" on.... Weightlifting

My Pony won't go..... Equestrian

14 Karat Gold....... What everyone is after

10 degrees and getting colder... What the Organisers want for the opening ceremony.

That reminds me of Gord singing at the opening Ceremony in Calgary... what a great event that was.

Keep Smiling Ron..

Char appears to have a snowboarding passion. Her brother must have played with her in the snow when they were young.

Since no one has offered anything for the discus, how about "Circle of Steel"?

For ice dancing or figure skating, how about
"Spin Spin"?

For the marathon, ten miles down and "Sixteen Miles" to go.

Tennis has to be "A Lesson in Love."

Olympic speed walking with them "High-stepping strutters ..."

There are plenty of events left!

LOL

Good time to recycle this thread as the Summer Olympics will be in Athens in a couple of months. So here's my attempt . . .

Canary Yellow Canoe - Canoe/Kayak (DUH!)
Go My Way - Synchronized Swimming
I'd Rather Press On - Weightlifting
Peaceful Waters - Sailing
Alberta Bound - The High Jump
Changes - Pentathalon
Let It Ride - Equestrian
Race Among The Ruins - Cycling (road)
