Mindlessly channel surfing, I paused on the TV Guide station which was showcasing clips from the upcoming movie "Wonderland," based on the life of John Holmes and starring Val Kilmer. About to move on, I was stopped dead by a shot of Kilmer, lying disheveled in the street, singing "If You Could Read My Mind." Apparently the real John Holmes was a fan of Gord's [hey! there's a neat acronym for Lightheads: F O G]

Anyway, here's a little more info:

Hollywood CA's Studio Atlantis Is Keeping It Hot This Winter Studio Atlantis has been keeping busy in recent weeks with a diverse assortment of projects.... Also in Studio Atlantis' A room was a vocal session for the upcoming film "Wonderland". The film is based on the true story of John Holmes, and the infamous 1981 quadruple homicides which took place on Wonderland Avenue in the Hollywood Hills. Starring in the film are Val Kilmer as Holmes and Kate Bosworth as his teenage lover. In life, Holmes was a fan of Gordon Lightfoot, often singing his hit "If You Could Read My Mind", which Kilmer has recorded for the film. Kilmer is no stranger to singing for film roles, as he also starred in "The Doors", where he had opportunity to display his vocal talent. Co-produced by James Townsend & Josh Ralph, Ralph also handled the engineering with assistance by Colin Miller.

I have a feeling that when John Holmes got "excited" he probably did get "lightheaded"! If you know what I mean.
