Very nice Nightingale, once again he gives an interesting story before doing the song. A great guy he is.

Re: Kefera/ Gordon Lightfoot Songs !
Well, I guess you must be on lunch break, eh?
I don't do mornings, Jesse Joe, but Ill take third shift if you want.
I love this song. Amazing! That Gordon guy is something else when it comes to writing about affairs of the heart.
I think David did a really nice job with this one.
The imagery this song gives me is just haunting and hollow. It's so strong in this song...such an empty feeling when you have this realization that you are haunted by the past in this way. Still looking for something to be there and it just isn't.
I would love to sit with Gordon and talk about his lyrics. The man is beyond belief.
Sorry for the ramble, I think I have had a little too much caffeine today...lol.

Hey you slacker...lol. How the heck did you sneak in ahead of me without me knowing?
Ah well, that's just the way you Canadian early shift people are.
Yes, interesting guy. He likes to vacuum... I wonder if he sings while cleaning?

Re: Kefera/ Gordon Lightfoot Songs !
Many Gordon Lightfoot songs takes me back in time. I guess it's from listening to his music since 1969... But of course he is a genius.

I wish I could have 'known' him that long ago. I could have used some of the wisdom in his songs when I was a young Annie...lol.

Re: Kefera/ Gordon Lightfoot Songs !
I guess this belongs here even if it wasn't written by Gordon Lightfoot.
This is such a great song. Really brilliant piece of work.
I am glad Kefera put this one up...I always love to hear it and he did a really nice version of it.
Hey Jesse, where are you now??? Sleeping or watching Matt play ball?

Just who is this guy Kefera - i.e., I really enjoy listening to his intros but I've never heard some of his info like GML being commissioned to write what was it, "Ghosts of Cape Horn"? I think he does a good job with his interpretation of some of GML's recurring themes, too - so, maybe HE's the one who should write the definitive GML biography! (Sorry, there were so many posts on this one that I guess I'm relying on you for a condensation!) LOL Sheryl

Re: Kefera/ Gordon Lightfoot Songs !
Hey Sheryl,
Leggers are fine except for a kitten that I took in. I pm'd you about it.
Kefera is David Albion. He puts up videos of all the great folk singers. Tim Buckley, Hamilton Camp, Patrick Sky, Bert Jansch, and , of course, Gordon Lightfoot is one of his favorites, too. He's very knowledgeable about that subject, so yes, he could write a book about all of those artists and more.
But, I doubt that he would...lol. It would be a good one if he did
Hope all is well with you and the babies. Poor working girl It's only the middle of the week and I bet you are ready for a day off.

The Phillies play tonight... Rain delay, in the 6th, 2/2 tie. If The Phillies win it's World Series over for 2008.
Im sure our favorite drummer 'Barry Keane' will be watching as well. Sports fanatic & he was born in Philadelphia.
Gord will probably be viewing the game also ??

Remember Nightingale when I told you on how I liked Kefera's intros to some songs he does ?
Well Sheryl Kat seems to agree with that.
Sheryl there are some that are very funny... He would put on a good show, if he did concerts. Great singer & story teller...

Yup, this guy's intros are fascinating - AND I admire anybody who can feel so comfortable in front of a camera! It's like he's just talking to you and not trying to play, "I'm the big artiste"!
And hey, I LIKE his tattoos - LOL Sheryl, aka SherylKat, aka "Seven Island Sheryl" Think I'll rock out on that on going to work - wow, I have 14 minutes to get dressed today! Another day of stunning people with my beauty! Once, when I took a half an hour to forty minutes to dress, my senior partner said, "Wow, Sheryl, you look really good today!' I just said, "Yeah, well, I clean up well - I even took a shower..." (That was a day my laptop was broken so I couldn't get onto Corfid before getting dressed for work)

Re: Kefera/ Gordon Lightfoot Songs !
Oh yes, the intros are interesting and informative. He is very informed about the music that he sings and the artist he is covering.
Yes, I kind of like his tattoos, too
Sounds like you have getting dressed and ready for work down to an art LOL about the shower / /computer thing. Priorities...right?
I locked myself out of the house this morning. Still in my pj's and had to hike to the in-laws house to get a spare key. It was cold...lol.
The kitties were in the house laughing at me...the dog, loyal baby that she is, was outside freezing her tail off with me.
Hi Jesse Wouldn't that be a fun show to go to? Kefera would be half humor / comedy show and the other half music. Maybe Music Appreciation 101 mixed in there somewhere.

Re: Kefera/ Gordon Lightfoot Songs !

Yes indeed Kefera would put on an interesting show. I like his laugh in some intros that he does.

Re: Kefera/ Gordon Lightfoot Songs !
This is one of my favorites. Love the energy and fun spirit of this song.
David did a very nice rendition of it.
That Canadian guitar sounds very good, J.J. I like the name of it, too.
I am kind of partial to birds

His 6 string is a "SEAGULL", but he sometimes uses a 12 string that I did not try to see what make it is yet.
