The way Shazia presented her question no wonder we got a few queer responses!!
Actually I am old enough to remember when "gay" was only a happy word
Indeed my 1987-edition Collins UK dictionary still shows the primary meaning as:
"carefree (as in highway) and merry".
I suppose If I ever wondered what I thought of Lightfoot's looks I guess I would have been very envious that someone with such a marvellous voice could look so good compared to a host of other popular singers and especially folk singers. Anyway I can't readily find it but I am sure that someone once compared Gord to either Adonis and/or said he looked like a Greek god. I have recently been playing the marvellous Music Scene 1969 video in mpg/videoCD/(mpeg-1)format and think that these two screenshots illustrate this point of view quite well
I am this time sure that you'll swoon again Gaby Baby!!

Thanks to all of you ladies who were open enough to tell the truth about how you feel about GL. To me he is beautiful and wonderful in every way. (I too wish he could gain a few pounds). When I'm listening to him as I'm driving, and I hear that certain quality in his voice (can't describe it in words), I shiver just a bit and whisper to him "I love you . . ."

I was shopping at Trader Joe's recently and was surprised and thrilled to hear his voice on the music system singing IYCRMM! In California . . .!

Thanks, Char, for your words--expressing my feelings almost exactly.

I've been telling everybody how I feel about Gord and his music for more years than I like to remember! I've even 'hinted' at it to Gord himself - remember the infamous phone call?

No, Silver Heels, I don't know about the infamous phone call. Could you please tell about it? Thanks.

here's some information about the phone call:
from 2much2lose:
One other object deserves honorable mention. After the Coral Springs concert in 2001, Gord used my cellphone to speak to Silverheels in England, who hadn't seen him in nearly 20 years. Gord told SH that the weather in Florida was hot and moist, and SH responded that she was rather "hot and moist" herself! ROTFLMAO!

The picture of "THE CALL" is priceless, as is the cellphone, which I presented to Silverheels as a momento after the phone contract expired. But I think of that as Silverheels' momento rather than mine.

So many great memories!

2Much2Lose

from Bru-silverheels:

The CALL photograph - which is of Gord on the cell, speaking to me, and which he signed for me in Toronto,2001, is one of my special momentos because it holds so many Gord memories. The photograph, kindly framed by a special friend, sits on my desk. The
cellphone I use as a paperweight.

OMG!!!! I am feeling quite flushed right now ... just remembering that moment ...
and the sound of Gord (Lightfoot's)shout of laughter, remains a treasured memory.
Geeez, its getting warm in here ...
