yeah, i failed to mention my grandfather never saw battle in either war...he was with army medical services...they were not typically targeted but it must have been a grim duty
ironic, but today as i was leaving work i saw a poster at the elevator that expressed what i was trying to say in less words,
"In war, there are no soldiers left unwounded"
btw, my late uncle (from the 'other' side, my Scottish bloodlines) was RCAF...and his sister was the aunt who took that pic, who was as 'proud' Scottish as you could get...she would have hit it off with your dear unc....she was also the first female president of the ontario society of photographers...i don't really have that feisty gene but i am pretty cheap
well, guilt or not, i'm glad he and others survived...or i probably wouldn't be online posting, lol
