The man is a class act all the way. See how he takes his time signing autographs, patiently getting photos taken, and not being in any hurry to leave. Very gracious. He doesn't do the "star" thing at all, and far as this country goes -- they don't come any bigger! I had wondered why there were no CDs or T-Shirts at the concert I recently attended. When I found out it was because he didn't want to exploit the fans, I was very impressed. We've got great taste in entertainers, people!

Funny enough, although I've heard some not-so-complimentary things about Gordon from someone who was using Grant Avenue recording studios at the same time Gordon was recording there, I have been impressed by the patience he has exhibited with the fans when he gets mobbed by them for photos and such.

At Massey Hall, for example, he spent a great amount of time indoors backstage receiving people. Then, after all that, he stepped outside and again was very gracious with people accosting him there.

I could see him being justified in just pushing past everyone and running into his car after playing a full gig and already receiving people backstage, especially at the age of 68, when a certain amount of fatigue must set in. I've certainly seen that happen among other younger "rock stars" and entertainment types when I've tried approaching them after shows.

As has been said, Gordon is a class act and a model for how entertainers should comport themselves. As someone shouted at the end of the video: "Keep playing!"

Char,
Thanks for explaining the clock chime. One of the chimes sounded just when Gord gave up on "Waiting For You" and I thought Rick did a rimshot!

I'll have to figure out how to get GL to play for my birthday. I wonder if he'll drive himself there?

Okay everyone, let's get this straight. The ball is in your court. Figure out when whoever is interested in dinner(and a few more meals of course), can come to California. Let me know how many to prepare for. I like to make a lot of food so please bring your appitites. :D

Well, I'm around Gord's home in Toronto, so how about we make the dinner halfway. We can also bring our guitars and have a jam session

Great idea T.G. - and if we're stuck with one song, we can call him real quick and ask him over, so he can teach us how to do it right...

Actually, I plan to be at the first three concerts in June. Someone find me a grocery store and a kitchen and I'm there. :D

Woohoo, I can't boil an egg, so I'll have to rely on some of our debonair cooks here to cover that end of things. I can play and sing a mean rendition of If You Could Read My Mind, though LOL

Alright, here's the deal: You teach me how to play IYCRMM and I'll cook! How does that sound??

Can't argue with a deal like that. Now what's a picturesque venue at which Gordon will be playing during the summer season?

Not a bad idea! Can you do the cooking, Char (as if you don't do enough on this site LOL)? But then, how would our American friends feel about coming over the border? Better that they have to deal with the border hassles than we LOL.

I think that Barry Harvey may just be the only person in the world that would be flying down a ski slope - Ten Degrees and Getting Colder - and wearing shorts! Just a silly comment on those nice pictures above of Gord in the Monte Carlo and Mr. Harvey looking like a secret service guy!

In 2005 I had the great fun to see even Gordon in Shorts, white socks & sneakers. It was in Seven Springs/Pa and an unbelievably hot day. I sneaked in at the Soundcheck and was sitting on the hill, inching closer and closer ( hiding halfway behind the loos...). Terry wore a Tank Top and Mike also was in Shorts.
Good think I did it and shot a few pictures because when the actual concert was about to start, a huge Thunderstorm rolled in and lasted forever. The concert eventuall got canceled and I was close to tears - it was the first time for me to see Gordon live...
Why haven't you posted the pictures? You are teasing us! lol We would all like to see those pictures, talk about rare shots. I remember that concert being cancelled several of the members here were very sad.
I am surprised, but all the shows in Colorado are sold out. Grand Junction sold out in four days. Some of venues are quite large - I thought I was the only Gord fan in Colorado when I started on this board in '02 (a lurker for a while before).

Hi Brink,

I wish I could, but at this time I had only a small digital camera so I chose to use my regular one with old fashioned paper pictures. But if anybody would offer to scan one of them, I'm happy to send it out
I have one framed in front of my computer and I always have to grin when I see Gordon in short pants...
