New Years Day 2006 in Sydney was just DISGUSTING weatherwise.
As you people mostly work in fahrenheit I will make it plain.
It was over 112 degrees F for most of the afternoon.
It was still over 100 F at 10 pm and we don't have a pool or air conditioning! It is the first day I can remember where I drank more soft drink than beer ! We could barely eat either -the thought of it was not inviting...
This is lifted from the major Sydney newspaper..

Boy, that's pretty hot!
It was -2F in Maine this morning, and warmed up to about 15 degrees.

Sheryl, maybe you should send some of that LA rain Steve's way. It sounds like he could use a couple of nice, cool showers.

Even people from the US/Canada would be well aware that those people who voluntarily reside in Melbourne,(Aus.) deserve no sympathy as they are obviously gluttons for punishment -(or are demonstrably detestable characters - eg Catman Ron)...Pfft...
Sydneysiders on the other hand , live in heaven on earth and deserve nothing less than perfection..
On another thread related subject I am unclear on whether the normally lovely Sheryl was being mischievous by providing certain visuals that were likely to do anything BUT cool me down.. The jury is out on that one...
(Also it was hardly cooling due to the frustration factor as I couldn't work out how to magnify them so as to get my heavy breathing into action).

John Fowles
they have them nearby in New Zealand too

Actually Stevo if you had searched for and found the full sized original of Sheryl's '"tease" you would have been far less excited:-

Hi Sydney Steve, Hey, right now I'm wearing my old sweatshirt that says Austrailia Sport Club. If you were cold, you could have it.
