I'm just about out of time so I'll make this quick. I have a GL challenge for you! Dare you play? The challenge is:To write a GL story using LP titles and song titles of Gordon's. I tried once but ran out of time, but I'll try again next time I'm on. I've thrown down the gauntlet, will ya pick it up? Borderstone, outta here and Altoona Bound! (Now I'm really travelling!)

I did that for a friend of mine recently (who moved to Cave Creek, AZ on the Carefree Highway) but it wasn't only GL titles. I can't remember exactly but it was something like: Hey Boss Man(GL),
If you could read my mind, my thoughts would say (GL), fly like an eagle(Steve Miller), but stay stone cold sober (GL), on the carefree highway (GL), remember me (GL)and take it easy(Eagles), you have too much too lose(GL). Remember to be Always on the Bright Side(GL)
Keepin' on yearnin'(GL)
Brink

Most of it was Gord.

Interesting. Here's mine, a little choppy because except for punctuation, it's song titles only.
*******************************************

The gypsy, home from the forest, keeping’ on yearnin’.
“Is there anyone home?”
Betty called me in. “Sit down young stranger. Remember me, I’m the one.”
“Hey you. You just gotta be fine as fine can be. Slide on over.”
If you could read my mind, my little love….
In a windowpane the lost children softly whisper my name.
All I’m after - blackberry wine.
“May I?” Ecstasy made easy. “Salute!”
Stone cold sober Uncle Toad said “Drink yer glasses empty.”
Stay loose. Let it ride.
“Does your mother know the house you live in on Yonge Street?”
That same old obsession. 10 degrees and getting colder.
“Mama said thank you for the promises.” The way I feel, heaven help the devil.
“I want to hear it from you.”
Forgive me, Lord. “If there‘s a reason….”
“If you got it, apology. “
Protocol. Sometimes I don’t mind….
“Don‘t beat me down. The watchman’s gone. Now and then, all the lovely ladies on Susan’s floor ring them bells.”
“Same old loverman, always on the bright side. Go my way”
“I’d rather press on, in my fashion.” Without you, boss man. Gotta get away.
“Wherefore and why?”
“Movin’. East of midnight, Alberta bound, somewhere U.S.A. I used to be a country singer. I‘ll be alright.”
“You’ll still be needin’ me, Miguel - too much to lose, unsettled ways.”
“I’d do it again.” Why should I feel blue? I’m not supposed to care. The circle is small. It’s too late, he wins. I’ll tag along.

Thanks, but I've done a lot of writing over the years - my mind just works that way, seeing stories in words and phrases.

One Lazy Mornin' as I made my way Alberta Bound,I wandered into the Mountains and Maryann said,"If You Could Read My Mind, you'd say It's Cold On The Shoulder Now and Then...If It Should Please You,wouldn't you?

In My Fashion I would have told her The Way I Feel but I was busy Looking At The Rain and seeing ripples Bend In The Water and make Shadows within the clouds darker than it is East Of Midnight.

Just before Sundown I finally said,"Yes,it's 10 Degrees and Getting Colder and time's not Waiting For You or Me and Bobby McGee,who's waiting for us at Yarmouth Castle with Poor Little Allison and Daylight Katy who caught cold while out playing in Leaves Of Grass!

At this point we stopped at the Hangdog Hotel Room(s) and spent the night. The place was Old Dan's(Records indicate that not long ago it was covered in Cobwebs & Dust.)

After falling asleep that night I had a Beautiful Summertime Dream about my 1st love Dream Street Rose. We were at a dance with other gentlemen and All The Lovely Ladies and we were doing a dance called the Cotton Jenny. Rose received a tap on her arm and someone said,"Baby Step Back",and that's when Betty Called Me In to try to do The Pony Man. It was simple as Don Quixote but there never was any Romance to dancing with her and besides, before this,Did She Mention My Name? Never Too Close to it I'd say.

So I found Rose again who jokingly said,"Sit Down Young Stranger!" Softly she led me out to the car and we then took off down Carefree Highway. We stopped at a secluded place, turned on the radio and out came,"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face",and we shared a kiss that was 14 karat Gold and, because of her lipstick that tasted like Blackberry wine!

This dream could've been an Endless Wire but I was woken up by a bird In A Windowpane chirping loudly. I said,"Okay,Boss Man,I'm waking up to your Morning Glory!" I woke up Maryann who said that she had seen in a dream The Ghosts of Cape Horn and the ghosts from The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald. I took this as a sign that we should skip the trip in the Canary Yellow Canoe and hop into the Steel Rail. Which is the name of my car!

Blues were playing out of the radio, some song about The Auctioneer,I think. After an hour we set out in The Early Morning Rain, caught the freight train and reached our destination. Upon arrival,we proclaimed,"Forget the Wherefore and Why,we're Home From The Forest!" "SALUTE!!"

I hope you all liked that one,it was right off the top of my head! I'm outta time and outta here & A.B.!!! Stay Loose!

Nice guys, but you're all nuts with way too much time on your hands. Only kidding, I enjoyed reading them.

I'll try to come up with one. But it's harder than it looks.
I think it'd be easier to use some of the lyrics as well as the title.
I might be awhile, and it could require a sheet or 2 of notebook paper, but I'll see what kind of author I'd make.

When it's "sundown" on the meadow and the cats are in the "shadows"
And I have a "summertime dream" in my great big bed
If you listen very "softly" be "as fine as fine can be"
In the yard you'll hear him it is "the Pony Man"

We're always there to greet cuz he's "someone to believe in"
He leads a string of ponies colored "blackberry wine"
And they always seem to kick or bite they hardly ever play
If you wanna try riding one your "welcome to try"

And we're in a "triangle" he gives a soft command
And we climb aboard our ponies as in row they stand
At first "my pony won't go" but then it starts to obey
And soon we all go sailing off in "a race among the ruins"

And as we're "alberta bound" beside the ripplin sea
We see the "ghosts of cape horn" they're "as fine as fine can be"
And the pony man is leading but "I'm not supposed to care"
He gives us "14 karot gold" at mr.moons front door

And then we stop to rest awhile where the soda river glides
Up to the slip comes the Edmund Fitz to take us for a ride
The pony man exclaims we've bin "waiting for you"
And we go in a "stone cold sober" and cry the whole night thru

And the hold is filled with gold and a tear on the face of the moon
We search all night long but there's "too many clues in this room"
We see a great big "borderstone" in front of the ship
And we're safely in our beds again and on the "summer side of life"

When it's "east of midnight" on the meadow and the cats are in the shed
And the river tells a story of a "sea of tranquility"
If your ever "approaching lavender" be as quiet as you can
In "the house you live in" it is the Pony man

Well we've obviously gone off topic but that's cool,I'm not gonna be a harp nose about it. Hey,DMD3! I'm not sure of your school age but do any of your peers know that you go to this site? ..and if they do do they kid you about it? Let Me Know 'cause I wasmade fun of in school for not liking metal too much and listening to light rock and pop groups like WHAM! It's been me and I'll catch you on the flipside of Sundown!

There's no way in the h*ll I'd tell anyone about this sight unless I was positive that they too, like GL, but I don't think anyone does. But I get on this site with lots of other classmates around the room and no one seems to notice and if they do they don't care.
By the way, I'm 15, turning 16 on May 5. I get on the internet after I finish all my typing because I'm in computer class and most of my other classmates have their on things to look up.
Some girls do this kind of chatting thing but it IS NOT associated with GL or any other singer like that.

Borderstone,

Thanks for letting me know about the edit! Too, bad you had to fix it...it was a pretty funny typo! Actually, the story you came up with to EXPLAIN the typo was even funnier (should that be "more funny"? I don't know, I'm not an expert on the English language!).
