as i said once before i became familier with his music when i was young because of the albums my parents have and at a young age i would either get confused by about a lot of things listening to the songs. many hard to put into words but some a little bit easier. for instance, i wouldn't of known that the records i was listening to were made in a recording studio and so forth. i would perhaps think that he was performing at that very moment and for those songs that faded out like sundown or carefree highway, i thought that he and his band were singing at some location and were walking away witch was the reason for the songs fading out on those recordings. speaking of carefree highway i thought he was saying every highway and the part where he sings let me slip away, i would envision him slipping and falling witch seemed wierd. the song wherefore and why the rain and touch me but can i touch the rain i thought was another strange part of a song. can't think of anymore things that i thought were strange sounding.

When he sang,"She's been looking like a Queen in a sailor's dream",I pictured a girl dressed like a Queen on a playing card and Popeye having a dream about her. (Yes,I was even weird at that age!)

When I was very little,I thought guitars on records were cats singing or meowing! Kids are funny!

another song that confused me was affair on 8th ave. or was it street? the 2nd part of the 2nd verse where he said and she brush it down. feferring to her hair. while it obviously means she simply brush her hair down originally i iterpeted brushed in down by means she brushed it down on the floor. in other wordsw her hair fell off.

Whenever he wrote it,it couldn't have been too tough. It's a bunch of kid's gamesand expressions. Very well put together though.
