Connie Kaldor, who covered IYCRMM on the tribute CD, has a new TV show:

Kaldor's new show recently debuted on Vision TV. Connie Kaldor @ Wood River Hall features folk and roots musicians performing in front of a live audience. New names as well as established stars like Bruce Cockburn and Sylvia Tyson appear each week. Kaldor sees herself as the emcee, not the typical talk show host.

"I'm not trying to be David Letterman. It's a music show."

Kaldor strongly believes that the musicians deserve a national venue for their talent.

"I think its time has come, I really do. These people are out there touring, having careers, playing festivals. It's an interesting bunch of music, and there's nowhere else that you see it on television."

The show runs Wednesday and Fridays. Thirteen episodes were taped last summer at the sound stage in Regina. It'll be renewed if the ratings are high enough.

"I want it to feel like you've just been dropped into this great little club. It's like having a mini folk festival in your living room."

I saw this a few weks ago inthe Toronto paper - it's hard to say if Gord would ever do this show - a lot of performers that are on it were on the Tribute album and performed at the tribute shows...I'll have to keep track and see...
this is the website for her show at Vision TV. http://www.visiontv.ca/HTML/Programs/MusicKaldor.html
