Somebody not too far back asked about Gord's son Eric being in the music business. Apparently he's currently in Montreal as the drummer with a group called Madrid. Here's a review of their performance:

***************************************

Boys took over the stage from that point on, filling the room with murky melodies and mobile rhythms by way of analogue keys, grandiose guitars, live drums synchronized with programmed beats and basslines that occasionally swerved head-on into disco. Madrid are the band, Adam Perry and Duncan Christie are its core duo. With additional players on hand — Gordon Lightfoot’s son Eric on drums and guitarist Sean Evans — Madrid bolstered their sound substantially, turning the cool down-tempo tracks off their album, Warm Waters, into a sonic tidal wave. The songs, some instrumental, some vaguely vocal, were never at risk of being lost in the din. Instead, the guitars acquiesced to the groove and the astral effects, producing some majestic washes of sound.

***************************************
Uh ... okay. Whatever that means. They do have an album, however. Sounds like he's finding his own way okay.

For a lengthier artice on the group, see http://www.ottawaxpress.ca/music/mus...IDArticle=2988

Thanks L! There must be something wrong with this computer (it can't be me) but I only see one picture on the Photo page.
