Okay I thought of doing this facetious, witty poll. I hope people can just take this lightly and just have fun with it!!

Okay when I am asking about his looks, it can mean any decade you want to refer to (60s, 70s, 80s, etc.)

The question is: in his prime (whatever that was), how did you feel about Gordon's looks, aside from his music? The choices are below.

a) Man, oh man. Every time I see this man I can't stop fantasizing. Never before have I ever been so attracted to a man I can never have. Just one look at his face and I'm totally excited on the spot everytime. Woo-hoo!

b) Well, not Mr. Universe but not half-bad when his face is posed a certain way in pictures! For example, If he paid me money to kiss him I would take him up on the offer. He's quite a masculine dude and when he holds that guitar up and sings it just totally enthralls me anyway no matter what he might look like at that moment!

c) Nothing to scream at, but I sometimes imagine myself being stranded in a cabin with him just for fun in Alberta, Canada or something. Maybe just to talk a little bit. And he can protect me from those grizzly bears with that manly, gallant spirit of his. Or perhaps I wouldn't mind him and I being the only 2 survivors on the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and we're stranded on a desert island.

d) He's just there. I don't think I could date him but I wouldn't mind being his friend!

e) He looks like my daddy and I can't fantasize about someone who looks like my daddy, even if they were handsome.

f) Same as "e" but this time it's "granddaddy" instead of "daddy."

Mine is (B) for now (thank god nobody knows my face because I am a bit embarrassed right now LOL )

I've never really thought of Gordon as in your A to E descriptions, but aside from His ears getting bigger,I think He's looking pretty good, and that's as far as I'll take that thought.(I think this might be a gender bias related subject)I think He IS in His Prime but I still don't have any fantasies about em.

Ok, I will try this. Since I'm a male heterosexual, I really don't care what he looks like, BUT, I would like to see Gord
gain about 15 pounds over the next 12 to 18 months. Yes he was too heavy around 1978-81, but he took up physical fitnness as a hobby, I guess, and lost a lot of weight. The illness and operations have taken their toll and he does look too thin. I wonder if his doctor(s) would like him to pick up a few pounds too. But, you know what, at 65, he has more hair than I do at 47, so God bless him!

Forgive me...I am SO sorry for making this post, I'm embarrassed as heck now! Oh well. I didn't take into account whether or not this board was dominated by males or females.

SilverHeels will most likely forgive me though, right?

I think Gord has a kind of spellbinding look when he is performing. He seems to look the part that I would expect a great folk musician to look. He sometimes wears the tropical looking coloured shirts when he is at Massey Hall performing...but no matter...
The look is in his face...his silvery hair, and lines on his face, portray an old story teller's wisdom, and his shining eyes reflect the whole package

Shazia. Why be embarrassed?

It’s just a topic that most people here pussyfoot around.

I’ve loved his music for 35 odd years. (Good grief! That is frightening.)

Anyway, years ago, I was doing my homework on the sitting- room floor and watching Top Of The Pops (a British chart show). IYCRMM came on – I looked up and there was GL, singing. Well, physics came a poor second. (and, no, John, I didn’t swoon!) I can remember it like it was yesterday.
MidnightMisty, who used to post here (where is she, now?) said she told GL, when she met him, that most people who loved his music could remember the first time they heard him sing – He was amazed. (I’m afraid I can’t find the thread.) It’s true – he was a revelation! You have obviously discovered this yourself.

Yeah!! He’s still the sexiest man out there.

As for SilverHeels! Well, Bru, when we meet up at Gatwick – just be careful you don’t get locked in the loos!

I don't remember MidnightMisty.
I would have to go with a B+ because he doesn't have to be posed in a certain way and he certainly wouldn't have to pay me! But I also can't quite go with A, when I was younger I admit he was my fantasy but as I get older I am more realistic. Now I just want to take care of him. He (as Bob Seger says)could do with a few pounds. But being thin and wiry (sp?) makes it easier for me to carry him away. oops was that a fantasy?!

back in 1973 I fell in love - with music. Lightfoot music and Kristofferson music. I thought Kristofferson was gorgeous - he still is even at 68. I thought Lightfoot was very good-looking as well but I never thought of him in any other way than being a fabulous singer/songwriter/performer. I attended yearly Massey shows, 2-3 times per concert series since then. It's only in the last 4 years or so that I look back at pics I've taken of Lightfoot from the 70's and 80's and pics of him on album covers that I realize now how incredibly gorgeous a man he was. His features were truly beautiful to look at. I'm glad I never thought of him as HOT back then - it would have distracted me from the music I think. Now adays when I see him live and pics on newer albums I see a man of experience, of deep emotional feelings he needs to express, a father, a partner, a son, a Canadian. In his face I see all those things that culminate in his beauty as an older man, a face that still has those chiselled cheekbones, the sparkling eyes, the kissable lips and the distinct jawbone. The complete package has aged, including the voice - but the sum of all the parts makes me love him more and deeply appreciate the gift he has given me in this lifetime. He was Beautiful, is Beautiful and always will be Beautiful.
