Okay, it's late and I am doubtless having some sort of auditory hallucination but does anyone (else) hear what sounds like Gord in the background vocals/refrain of "Against the Wind" (the single, not the whole album)? It's credited to Glenn Frey but gosh it sounds like Gord. I heard the song for the first time in a long time tonight and had to look it up. I don't suppose Gord happened to stop by when Seger was layin' it down and provided a little uncredited work.

I had that LP at one time and no where on there was any mention of Gordon Lightfoot, members of the Eagles did the back up on that one.

But, you are right Glenn Frey does have voice quality similar to Gords, I think. But, just in case, maybe you were hallucinating just to bring you closer to Gord as we all suffer Gord withdrawal... anyone got any methadone-type alternative for Gord, I like Glenn Frey but, he doesn't have the quality of song or the interest of song

Well, after a few days of working, tax filing, babysitting my God-daughters and sleeeeping,I'm back! I just got to the library. Now I have a copy of the,"Against The Wind" LP but I'd have to go home, check the liner notes and report back. I'm almost sure though that Gordon is not a back-up singer on that one. Glenn Frey comparable to Gord? The man who gave us the ever annoying,"The Heat Is On" ? The long drawn out,"You Belong To the City" ? The dopey duo of,"Sexy Girl" and "True Love" ? Don't make me laugh that hard ha ho hee har de har har! If anyone is comparable to Gordon it's James Taylor! His music is laid back, jazzy, folksy, and sometimes rocks too. He can sometimes get near Gord's baritone range, almost but not quite. Great to be back or great back to be! Borderstone, outta here and Alberta Bound!

You can get a further listen of Glen Frey's voice if you listen to Fire Lake on that same lp.
