it is kinda sad to see the modest little site for John A. in Kingston. we visited it a few years ago - lisa was doing a project and we took pics. He was the man who "started" canada and Pearson made Canada what it is today. Nobel Peace prize-our own flag, anthem....he wasn't loony like mackenzie king...I LOVE Pinball too - what a wonderful, joyful human being. Just thinking of his huge smile makes me smile.
a couple of things last night made me teary - Mr. Dressup - i loved that they said that Ernie Coombs was American but Mr. Dressup was Canadian....but knowing him I know Ernie was Canadian too after all the years he was here. Terry Fox - my heart still aches all these years later. The Unknown Soldier and Stephen Lewis. All exemplary human beings - Ernie for Save The Children, Terry for cancer research, Stephen Lewis for AIDS in Africa and Romeo Dallaire for the effort to save Rwanda when the world turned it's head and ignored the genocide. Greatness oozes from them along with courage and conviction. It's very humbling. My mere efforts at what I do pale in comparison....we all can strive to do better...heaven knows this world could use more compassion and kindness.

yeah, that's the second day in a row i've felt almost totally insignificant...the first was when i found that website calculating how many people have lived on this planet, lol~!
well i've learned something already from this, the honourable Romeo Dallaire will now be a household name to me, instead of a "WHO?????" 
ps) where was Neil Young at the Canadian Family Farm Tribute?
ps2) yer right, B...they should have put singer/songwriter, lol

I've followed Dallaire since Rwanda - he is an outstandingly brave man..I'm looking forward to reading his book - undoubtedly a very hard read I'm sure, but he actually lived the horror of Rwanda.

I've followed Dallaire since Rwanda - he is an outstandingly brave man..I'm looking forward to reading his book - undoubtedly a very hard read I'm sure, but he actually lived the horror of Rwanda.

Greetings,,about 20 years ago I met a pilot that had a guitar he said belonged to gordon,,it is a 1966 Gibson SJN..He did have pictures of himself with Gordon,,I now have that Guitar,,Is there any way to verify if it was Gordons or not..I searched through lots of photos and found several with exact guitar and have close ups og guitars Gordon played and the wear from his fingerpicking are Exactly in the same place,,,What should I do with this guitar ,,I play folf music myself and have been playing it lately,,,it does have a spirit,,,As strange as that sounds,,,,Any info would help....Dylan

bjb, i'm sure char can help...i only caught a replay on CBC Newsworld after the baseball game last night and picked it up at about #38 down to #32, good timing but i can't remember any quotes, the usual stuff...Wendy Mesley started the intro and then it was mostly Murray McLaughlin and some male actor whose name escapes me....they showed GL playing CRT in the old b+w version and synched it to the Front Page Challenge version (which was mint vs, what i've seen before)...aren't you glad i dont' do concert reviews? lol, it went by quick, all GL on tv is too quick...the Winnipeg radio host Hal Anderson before him got about 5 seconds, lol
i enjoyed seeing the old Mr. Dressup footage most but that doesn't help you much, i'm sure the whole thing will be on sale at the cbcshop soon, it will also be at my local library i would hope,,,,ahhh the library

Being from Pennsylvania and a "longtime Lightfoot fan" if I was ranking on a scale of 1-10 Gordon would be #1, Celine#5 and Avril #8. (This is in 2004!!!) Five years from now Gord will still be #1, Celine would be up there but Avril? (Time will tell) But that's just me. I don't know a whole lot about your Canadian stuff. Jim Carrey etc, unless they're huge in Canada 50 years from now, who will Canada remember?
