I have a first edition copy of the childrens book "The Pony Man". I hope to get it autographed some day. Then my most prized possesion would be the memory of meeting Gord, which hopefully will follow a concert.

The CALL photograph - which is of Gord on the cell, speaking to me, and which he signed for me in Toronto,2001, is one of my special momentos because it holds so many Gord memories. The photograph, kindly framed by a special friend, sits on my desk. The
cellphone I use as a paperweight.
What wonderful memories are unleashed as I look at these two items!
And like you, they serve to remind me of all the beautiful souls Gord has introduced into my life and who I now count as my dearest friends. You know who you are. You are
probably my favourite Gord items: my friends!

I really don't have any "items" other than the CDs that I have. The Songbook is my favorite item so far. It has, I believe, 88 songs on there and at least 10/11 of them sound Grreat!

Yeah, I feel a little inadequate here...never met him, no autographs...all the songbooks though, and a quadraphonic LP of Sundown!

yeah, like Bille, I feel a little inadequate. I really don't collect tons of Gord LP's, I really don't know where to look for them. I wish I had met him and I don't think i would have done much except stand there and maybe drink in the moment. Perhaps it's time to really plan the next time for my thoughts alone. I just hope I do get to meet some of you guys at the next event, because it has been fun discussing and reading about all the others who love Gord's music for all that it is and will remain with us as...so the next night out we'll all be there, right, making memories.

I think that my most rare item would be my LP "Gordon Lightfoot Talks About Shadows" from 1982. It was made for certain radio stations to plug his newest release at the time. It's an entire LP of Lightfoot talking about canoeing, the audience, writing and explains what each song is about on "Shadows". I don't know exactly how rare this really is but mine is the only one that I have seen.

Watchman, that LP sounds cool. I love hearing Gord discuss the individual songs.
My favorite "rare" Gord items are the pictures I have of him after the concerts. I did get him to autograph my Waiting For You CD cover as well. The best part about meeting him was I got a hug each time. That was the BEST!

I'm kinda suprised more people did not respond to this,especially the lucky ones that got a d-18 GL.[Now there is another story subjecet] Anyway, as far as rare,I suppose that would have to be our(Brian&Gloria's) D18GL. CDs and guitar books we have in the 20s of each and many books and mags. and vidio's..........Most valued of all was to meet the man...on our "Spring Gordoning 2002 Tour".Saw Him at Trenton N.J.,where We got to meet him,thanks so much to John F. then on to Lancaster and then to Williamsport.....All Front Row.....We had one more to go....in our own back yard....then Gordon got sick......Would have been 4 shows in one year......But still the most awsome year of my life.... Meeting Him was the most Valued.... He talks "with"you just like a regular dude...no hype no B.S. just like His show's....Wherever I have to go,I'll see Him and the band again,He said they would sign Our guitar and I'm going to hold em to it.....Can't wait... Last Thursday I got the Sundown Album. Nothing rare about that but it has a lot of nice songs on it. So for awhile that'll be me most prized GL item.

Hey there. I've been researching Gordon Lightfoot for a school project (I'm in my last year of highschool) and I thought I'd just tell you the reason that the album's name was changed to "If you could read my mind". Lightfoot was having a hard time getting a #1 almun in the USA, so when the song "If you could read my mind" got so big, his record company changed the name of the record, and the sales skyrocketed. Giving him his #1 record kind of a neat story...
