Hi Mike & Brink!

Mike,Brink is correct,except to say that if you look for the movie to rent or buy,it's called simply,"54". I saw it in the movies in 1998. It's good. Not fantastic but it's an accurate portrayal of what it was like in the '70s at places like that.
The version of Gordon's song used in the film is a dance/disco version by a one time female trio called Stars on 54 (that name is similar to a fake early '80s act called Stars on 45 that did dance/medley versions of songs.)
The song was released as a single and made the Hot 100 that year,making it GL's 1st chart entry (as a writer) in 16 years!

It did not make the top 40 but I got the single anyway and it's in as good a shape as the day I bought it.
