Re: Stone Cold Sober Cover
I found this guy's videos a few months ago, and thought they were really good. I love his version of "On Susan's Floor." Watch that one, and see how good the instrumental part is. This guy's really good. He gives lessons, in some sort of affiliation with Sam Ash Music, I think.

If you have signed in as a member if you hover your mouse cursor over the edit link at the bottom of every one of your own postings you should see this pop-up
and if you are lucky clicking it will give you the option of deleting that particular posting. (noting that if it was the first posting to a new thrwad then the entire thread will get deleted)
I said "if you are lucky" because occasionally the board refuses to play ball with me (a recent duplication by myself of a new thread that I called
"Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Flattery" caused me a problem because
after numerous attempts I was unable to delete the duplicate posting and I had to get the moderator to do the dirty work for me
Thank you CHar!!

NO NO NO Doug all you needed to do was simply copy and paste in the URL of the video page the bulletin board will then automatically "parse" the text and show a youtube video box
"podline6" is a guitarist of almost impeccable taste if you check the "more by" link for podline6 the top of the list is a rare Buddy Holly tune
Although against that is fact that two of the following three are by the Partridge Family!!
plus a Barry Mildew
Podline6's On Susan's Floor is at:-
right click the title to get the URL
the stone Cold Sober video reveals that podline 6 has achieved an uncanny resemblance to the sound of our hero
I am wondering if he is already a member of this forum so I will be sending him a message through the youtube system suggesting that he replies to this thread and tell us more:-
from his samilessons web page at:-
http://www.samilessons.com/pro/podline6
I have found that his name is Larry Lud and I have now sent him message
and if he can get to Toronto he would be a most welcome addition to the line up at McVeighs Irish Pub in November 2009

I don't post very often, but felt I had to comment on this one.
Larry, you are far and away the best I've found on YouTube -- your Lightfoot covers are awesome.
Do not apologize for your diversity - it is one of the best things about you! Please, just keep doing the music you love...

Re: Stone Cold Sober Cover
Sorry folks..but ...
Just wanted to bring this back to the top of the current list.
My first time listening to them. As a fellow lightfoot fan "player" (of sorts) I absolutely love to hear this kind of music..
Great job on these two songs...
I loved them.

Re: Stone Cold Sober Cover
Gotta chime in here on this one as well folks. Good to hear from you John and hope you're well and still pickin'.
Larry I'm so happy that your talent is being shared with us here and thanks to the friends who helped bring it forward.
"Stone Cold Sober" is one of my favorite Lightfoot tunes and I remember well hearing it for the first time when my wife bought me the "Songbook" collection as a birthday present.
It was a very special moment hearing that tune as it just seemed to fit so well into the category of the Lightfoot classics. I was sold on it after just playing it just once.
Please keep them coming Larry and as John mentioned you would be a most welcome guest at our hopefully upcoming pub jam in Toronto if the November Massey Hall concerts materialize.
Many thanks, Ron J.
