Just call us "The Burnaby Gourds." After playing that gig I'm convinced that there has to be at least one Gordon Lightfoot recording in every household in Burnaby. No shortage of requests that's for sure. The gig started at 10AM and ran straight through till 2PM. I was having such a great time I didn't even bother to take a break which convinces me that if it was an hallucinogenic episode that hit me during the drive back to Vancouver it would have to be very real. But after a blissful 10 hour sleep we're rip roarin' to go at it again. Cheers, Ron J.

with you on 12 string zucchini!

great stuff, Ron...lovely pic, wish it was higher res so I could zoom in

I tell ya, our local market is one of the top reasons we moved here, nothing like an early Saturday morn when they close down Main St and let the locals snoop around vendor offerings...a few musicians but Gord tunes are a void ...Ron, I send a request for Minstrel of the Dawn....do you have a list of your performable GL tunes assembled?

check out PBS (even in hi def) for this cooking show that shows the origins of the meal they prepare whether it be from farmer field, stream, forest, you get the idea...nice footage and very homey

so way to go Burnaby, long overdue...and long live the farmers market and the country veggie/fruit stands of the continent

Thank you so much for this folks. The farmer's markets are springing up more frequently these days and the way they integrate other functions is a huge draw as well. It works well for everybody and strengthens communities. Fortunately they've included me in the circuit out here so it's great to have the opportunity to travel around a bit with a change of scenery and have a lot of fun at the same time. But, JJ, it would be impossible for me to come up with a list of performable GL tunes. I keep having to learn over the ones I've forgotten. Fortunately the type of work I do gives me a prime opportunity to "just do it." I always said the best rehearsals were right up there on the stage. "Minstrel of the Dawn" was, and still is a favorite and I remember learning it shortly after the recording came out. Over the years I tended to lose sequence of the verses so that's one that I'm honing in again. But I'll have it ready for you that's for sure. Other examples would be "Rosanna," "Go Go Round," "Rich Man's Spiritual," mainly tunes from his earlier work. I think it's the inspirational sound that Red Shea was putting in there that hooked me during those early days. Stay loose. RJ.
