Patrick Macnee, A handsome Debonaire...

Diana Rigg, A dashing beauty...

Back in the late 60's, early 70's, one of my favorite TV shows was, "The Avengers," w/ Patrick Macnee as: John Steed, and Diana Rigg as: Emma Peel.

Later they replaced Diana Rigg w/Linda Thorson as: Tara King. I wonder if anyone knows of these actors? Are they still around?

This question should be directed at John Fowles. I guess, he must have heard of The Avengers. As of course it was shot somewhere in England, with there cars on the wrong side of the road, driving with the steering wheel on the wrong side, as well. lol Jesse-Joe...

We had The Avengers also, in french on CBC. I bet you can't figure out what it was called?

As for the Avenger's stars I expect that they are all still alive J-J. For myself I think in retrospect that I preferred the sequel about which I read on:-

"The New Avengers was a sequel series to The Avengers that was made some seven years after the original series. The line-up changed slightly in that an additional male character, Mike Gambit, was added to the old formula of John Steed and his glamorous female sidekick, in this case Purdey. The New Avengers only actually ran for two seasons, producing a total of twenty-six episodes, seven of which were made with overseas finance. This lead to three of the episodes being based in France, and four of them in Canada."
I guess that the original Mrs Peel/Rigg series was popular in Canada which would explain the financing of the four New Avenger episodes being based in Canada,did you see them.(I do not now recall Canada being involved, where were they located any idea J-J??)
I was surprised to read that it only ran for two seasons (must be due to the deep impact Purdy had on us especially Joanna Lumley's hair style including of course Princess Diana

To answer you question, I would think Toronto, because I remember those actors being interviewed by Don Harron, of The Don Harron Show witch was based in Toronto. But I am not 100% sure on this...

When The Avengers first aired in the UK Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore in Goldfinger) was John Steeds sidekick her characters name was Cathy Gale (Dr. Catherine Gale). I think she dressed in leather, quite sexy if I remember rightly. She bought martial arts to action TV. She is somewhere near 70 now and still has a certain allure. Just found this pic. She did dress in Leather

It took me awhile to realize he was sent from another planet. I thought he was just a simpleton.

Changing subject, I am now one of the biggest fan of, "Trailer Park Boys". I remember you telling me how your kids love that show.

Very cleverly made, although there supposed to be a bunch of idiots. There are 2 of these actors that are from Moncton. NB.

I guess I really never paid attention to the intro. One day I decided to watch it, and it struck me that Mr. Bean is an alien.

My son has a collection of Trailer Park Boys DVDs. It's a bit too off the wall for my tastes, but there were a few parts I have to admit were pretty funny. I guess I just got sick of watching it one weekend a few years ago, when I was visiting Matt in Southern Maine.

A few years ago I saw Diana Rigg narrating a British mystery series. Her grace, elegance, and beauty are still evident, as she has aged very, very well.

I do beleive I saw that too. Im a fan of hers, whenever there is something on the Tube about her, may it be just that, a mystery series, that she narrates, I will watch it. Great voice, and a good looking woman...
