I have to say that small animated gifs have fascinated me for a very long time and I have
software somewhere to make my own, which I shall use soon to make some gifs to demonstrate
the successive steps and effects of an an HTML editing program tutorial I am working on.
Meanwhile and whilst on the subject of bands these four I saved back in July 1971 whilst learning HTML on line
(I have no idea now where I found them so have uploaded them to the "corfid" free web site at:-
http://h1.ripway.com/corfid/

Ah yes very satisfying
John Fowles
Thanks SM I always wanted to try getting images to be on the same line instead of stacking vertically.Inspired by your prowess I experimented and as you can see I succeeded

Oh well that did not quite work out because my 4 gifs were overall not quite wide enough to prevent one being shunted to the next line.
hence I am now posting a wider picture which SHOULD make the forum's column wider, at the risk of cocking up SM's nice "2x4" arrangemnent

Hey John,I have seen The Beatles First U.S. visit! Totally awesome! It's here at the library.
As for our animated Fab Four,John looks like Dustin Hoffman,Paul & George look the same and kinda like Reggie from the Archies,Ringo looks like a N.Y. cab driver!! :D

No No he is still missing sorry!
quite possibly because we are forbidden from accessing that gif apparently
"You don't have permission to access /musician77.gif on this server."
Otherwise most excellent work stationmaster
OK it was not Gord related as such and you were at fault for starting it here in the first place
(I am surprised that so far RMD has not issued a Reminder to that effect),
Anyway to make it legit here is a nice animated gif talken from an internet birthday card
organised by one time web site owner David Sims for Gord's 60th birthday that I saved yonks ago (1997/98/99) and have since preserved for posterity on my own site at:-
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFOOT/60thcard.htm

John Fowles
for anybody who did not know David after taking down his full web site started the Gordon
Lightfoot fan club Yahoo group at:-
http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group...htfootfanclub/
a newbie Mary Winberg posted a rare message there today so I replied

My, my, my..... Mr. Fowles,
You wrote :

I WILL remind you that my original point was directed at YOUR suggestion that someone might try a Lightfoot topic in the small talk forum first just in case it might be steered off-topic (which I believe you are guilty of on numerous occasions).
Stationmaster has yet to preach "Do as I say, not as I do". Do I think this thread should have been in the small talk forum ? Yes. Do I care ? No. But I will if SM starts to preach.

OK OK reminder I feel suitably castigated/chastised.
My problem is that when I reply to a topic invariably it sets off a chain of thoughts and I think of something else that as
you intimated is frequently way off topic, that I would then while the thought is fresh like to share.I then do research and try to compose something that I hope the great unwashed public here will find interesting/informative or just plain amusing

Well spotted Walter my deliberate mistake.
In my haste I had copied and pasted the previous link then forgot to change Paul in the third one to George, who never AFAIK played a left handed guitar. Now he has a trademark red Buddy Holly Stratocaster
