Default Movin' -

Glad I got mine for a few bucks from the CBC years ago - (the music is attached to some pics in 2 videos at youtube-just google it.i don't post that guys 'stuff')

http://citizenfreak.com/titles/288286 Ultimate Canadiana folk legend Gordon Lightfoot at his best sings three railroading tracks for CN's freight film "Movin'". The flip side features Jean-Pierre Ferland singing two tracks for the CN film "Allons-y!". Pressed by Peterson Custom Record Productions. The rare picture sleeve was pressed in limited quantities and was not for sale or commercial broadcast.

Movin'
Everybody's movin', movin' across the town,
The skyline grows and the cut of the clothes,
Is enough to turn you around.
Oh, oh the future is just an hour away,
And the hearts of youth are aflame,
Everybody's movin', nothin' stays the same!
Fields are turnin', the bridges are burnin',
And the light turns night into day.
It's the time to stake it or make it or break it,
For the time flies quickly away.
Oh, oh it's the time to start makin' your mark,
And it's the time to get in the game!
Everybody's movin', nothin' stays the same!

Upwards, outwards, all around,
They're reachin' for the sky.
The ribbons of highway and roads of steel,
It's a time to be alive!
Oh, oh, ain't no ragin' river that we can't cross,
Nor giant too tall to be slain,
Everybody's movin', nothin' stays the same!

Steel Rail Blues
Well I got my mail late last night
A letter from a girl who found the time to write
To her lonesome boy somewhere in the night
She sent me a railroad ticket too
To take me to her loving arms
And the big steel rail gonna carry me home to the one I love

Well I been out here many long days
I haven't found a place that I could call my own
Not a two bit bed to lay my body on
I been stood up I been shook down
I been dragged into the sand
And the big steel rail gonna carry me home to the one I love

Well I been up tight most every night
Walking along the streets of this old town
Not a friend around to tell my troubles to
My good old car she done broke down
'Cause I drove it into the ground
And the big steel rail gonna carry me home to the one I love

Well look over yonder across the plain
The big drive wheels a-pounding along the ground
Gonna get on board and I'll be homeward bound
Now I ain't had a home cooked meal
And Lord I need one now
And the big steel rail gonna carry me home to the one I love

Now here I am with my head in my hand
Standing on the broad highway will you give a ride
To a lonesome boy who missed the train last night
I went in town for one last round
And I gambled my ticket away
And the big steel rail won't carry me home to the one I love
