Default El Condor Pasa.

I was looking at the Wiki article on the song and mentions it was recorded Nov. 1968 and Nov. 1969.

Now 1969 doesn't surprise me since Bridge Over Troubled Water was released in Jan. 1970, which means all or most of the LP was recorded in 69, and though I've read this twice I still can't get it.

Default Re: El Condor Pasa.

I got this tid-bit from SONGfacts :

This song started out as an Andean folk melody that Paul Simon came across in 1969 when he played a week-long engagement at a theater in Paris along with the South American group Los Incas, who played an instrumental version of the song called "Paso Del Condor." Said Simon: "I used to hang around every night to hear them play that. I loved it and I would play it all the time, and then I thought, Let's put words to it."

If the site is accurate that he did discover it
specifically in 1969,then Wikipedia (big shock) is incorrect.

They actually list the whole LP listed as being recorded both of those years. I'm not sure now why I listed just that song.

Perhaps that to is a Wiki goof.
