OK I carefuly read the various coments and assorted criticisms
and realised that I Let my Brit humo(u)r get a bit too far from the acceptable or as Mike
so eloquently put it
"doesn't sound appropriette here"
So having saved the whole thing for posterity
I have decided to agree with Madam Moderator
I now realise that I should not have posted my topic and have therefore deleted it. This posting therefore takes its place
I was just overcome by two very strange press reports on the same day and wanted to share the mirth I felt.
In my own defence though I did say
"Just trying to entertain you understand"
and I noticed more than one person who obviously got a chuckle or two from the two stories.
So would all those that I offended I would ask you to please accept my apologies .
Just for a change and again quite topical
I will refer you to a great satire site I found from a listing on Google News (UK edition) where amongst other things I read that allegedly
George Bush intends to run for the Pope's job and
that there is no truth in the rumo(u)r that Camilla's hat was made from a porcupine

On a whim I googled for camilla porcupine and found several results including a (we)blog one by a Warwick University student who reported at:-
http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/mmannion/
"A lost porcupine that was reported missing from it's home in the West Country last Sunday was found safe and well in Windsor yesterday. The porcupine was feared dead when it was found to have escaped during the night, deftly picking the lock on it's cage and abseiling down from the third floor of the building before speeding away in its' owners Lambourghini.
Despite the sighting yesterday in the public eye, it is not known whether or not the porcupine has returned to its owner. Unconfirmed reports have been both confirming and denying the death of the porcupine, but what we can summise is that its escape was due to the inflated price of oil

Brit humo(u)r at its best!!!
actually that weblog has several pretty funny items

that hat, far from being a porcupine, was diamond tipped. I thought she looked fantastic.

I agree Bru
Oi think peole have been very unfairly rude about her and unduly critical of Charles who was despite what they say obviously made desperately unhappy because all his life he had to do what was expected of him and i think was quite probably dismayed by in effect having to marry Diana and probably ended up feeling very overshadowed by her popularity which might have in turn affected his libido.
I have a lot of sympathy for him and really wish him well with his new wife
I think there is a powerful parallel with poor Princess Margaret who was also put off her main love by the royal protocol.
But the hats Camilla wore were so remarkable so despite the diamonds I consider that hat fair game for a laugh

She's joking. However . . . I still have to find a frame for it, but I bought a 21x27 copy of the cover of Summertime Dream. It was a record store advertising promo printed on card stock. Just having trouble finding a mat and frame, but once I do then there's the matter of deciding where it goes

Kate,
that would be PERFECT! :D

I have several poster size portraits of him in my home. 3 (purchased outside Massey in 2001.These caused a small problem getting them home, regardless of my gi-normous suitcase.)in my office, one on the stair landing and my fave one (begged from Reprise all those years ago, in my bedroom. Gord surely reigns supreme in this small piece of the UK.

But you wont find any sign of Diana.
lol.

Yeah.

And your point would be?

Summertime Dream is one of my favorite covers because it's so graphic. Still having trouble fitting a mat and frame for it though. Odd size and all. But I will prevail. :D

I do not see where you are coming from "Patti"
your last two comments are inexplicable
sure there are "Loonies" here as several members here also happen possibly coincidentally belong to a "private" group called I believe the "Lightfoot Loonies"
So how on earth did you know Patti???
and several of us (I like to think including myself are genuinely humo(u)rous in the nicest possible way), perhaps you would like to explain your thoughts more comprehensively. If and when you have the time and inclination

Ahhhh, formal library. Well, I have the office/library/guest room. :D But I haven't decided yet where Gordon will be hanging. There's so much wall space in this house. I've never had this much. I used to have too many prints and paintings, now I don't have enough.

Well, now that you mention it, that's probably the room where it will fit in best color wise. I'm leaving the trim in the Master Bedroom white, and if I frame it in white that would be the logical choice. :D And it's all about logic of course. Nothing else, nope, not a thing else influencing my decision.
