As of July 22, 2004, Jimmy Buffett has his first No. 1 album. "License to Chill" is hitting the top of the Billboard Top 200 Album chart. Buffett, whose singing and songwriting career has spanned 30 years, is best known for his 1977 hit, "Margaritaville."

YAY Jimmy! I'm happy for him. It's been a long time coming for him. He's been ignored where he shouldn't have been.I love most of his music and think he is a wonderful songwriter. A Pirate Looks At Forty.
Think I'll go listen to it now.
(as I insert a narcissistic comment: good song to listen to sing it's my forthieth bday today )

Happy Birthday! Forty's a nice round number - I remember it well (says she from a dozen years beyond the Big 4-0) Hope it was a good 'un.

Thank you, thank you. My son just took me out to dinner, live Maine lobster. On his dime, which made it taste so much better.
I'm quite liking forty. Although they put a shark hat on my head and sang me happy bday. Mortifying, really.

Hi Brink,
Nah, they didn't let me keep the hat, it's a communal thing I believe.
But I did get a nice (ahem!) picture of myself wearing it. Beet red in the face. My son enjoyed the whole thing immensely, since he knows his mother intensely dislikes public attention. He's 19, 20 in January.
I had a lovely lobster dinner, which the kid tried to ruin by telling me that lobsters scream when they're boiled. (?!?)
When the meal came, I picked up the little lobster head and made it say, "Hi Ryan, I screamed when I died." I guess maturity doesn't happen automatically upon reaching 40? who knew?
Thank you so much for the Birthday wishes!
L
