Hi I have a question for people who have listened to Lightfoot considerably longer than I have.

Have there been times where you think you might listen to him too much, or, say, listen to one of his albums way too much, and you get "saturated" or "sick of it" for a while? Getting "sick of it" doesn't mean you don't like it anymore, it means that you liked it SO much that you couldn't stop listening to it, and ironically, you got a little tired of it because you feel you played it too much or something.

If this has ever happened, does the thrill come back, and if so, how long does it take to come back? For example, if you start listening to other artists for a couple of days and quit for 2 days of listening to Lightfoot, does the "sick of it" syndrome die down and you bounce back? I'm just curious.

One of the nice things about listening to Gord's music is that there is so much of it. So if you do tire of a song or album you can switch to another. From the early UA stuff to APPT, from ballads to story songs to funny songs.

Shazia: I know exactly what you are talking about. This has happened to me with most artists. Interestingly, not so with Lightfoot. I go in spurts with Gord's music; sometimes listening intensively to a certain album(s) and then perhaps backing off and not listening to that one for months at a time. Rarely, however, do I ever go more than a day or two without a dose of Gord in my listening diet.(I am an avid music fan and listen every day to a healthy dose of something.)Gord is the one artist I have never tired of in over 30 years. There are others who run a close second but GL is the one consistent.

Sometimes I get into the "I dont want to listen to music at all mode" Sometimes I get too busy with my work, or I'm writing or recording myself, and again have no time. Usually though...if I dont listen for awhile, it might be the winter blahs...or a relationship that is in the process of going sour.

Well, since I finished and listened to all my home-made GL tapes & not to mention buying every LP possible (soon to be CD),I too am now taking a sabbatical from my GL collection.

I'm not tired of these songs in any sense of the word but I know if I listen too long,I will be (maybe.)

The rest of my musice collection? I've listned to just about all of it and I am actually tired of a good deal of it. Mostly my '80s stuff, but I keep them anyway.

There's only a handful of 70s I can go without hearing for a good while. As for GL,I'm sure my intermission wont be a long one but just long enough. Later!
