I've been a big Gordon Lightfoot fan for years (and i'm 20!). I just heard "Sea Of Tranquility" the other day for the first time. Does anyone else think that it sounds kinda similar to "the wreck?" I really enjoyed this song! I found it kinda strange that it wasn't on one of his greatest hits albums.

I also play guitar and can play most of Gord's stuff. I'm working on "Sea of Tranquility" now.

Hi Stew,

"Sea of Tranquility" is a wonderful song & might be open to lots of interpretations by young guitarists like yourself. I agree that there is a likeness to "Wreck..." with that very stern (no boat pun intended) lead guitar work. Any Lightfoot tribute band would be wise to open with this song, mainly because of it's overall dramatic sound. "Wreck..." is a classic, no doubt, but "Sea..." works better because it's shorter & straight to the point. And don't forget those absolutely great lyrics. Very evocative.

All the best
