Hey Char,
As my surrogate "mom", I hope you're taping this! I'll be at the cottage so won't be able to see it.

It wasn't Gord - thankfully!
a guy 'pretending" to be gord..singing and playing guitar and getting hit by a bus and truck.
The premise of the skit was about the jokes Air Farce told over the season and how if anyone was offended they were sorry...
"sorry for jokes about Iraq, for using offensive language, but you have to admit that Stephen Harper (Prime Minister) is an asshole (ass was bleeped) and "we're sorry we had to bleep that out, same sex marriage, the Rankins, sorry for large women wearing low cut jeans...really sorry...sorry,sorry,sorry.
"We're sorry that the milk in your fridge has gone sour."
"so sorry we hired Gordon Lightfoot to write a song about it."
"Gord" is all in black, reddish hair blowing in the wind as he crosses a street playing guitar.
Singing to the tune of The Fitz (sort of)
"The milk in your fridge is sour and bad and kind of smells like my aunt, but lucky for me i simply don't care because i'm lactose intolerant."
(the 't' at the end of aunt and intolerant is over pronounced)
A bus hits him...cut to announcer saying "we're sorry we didn't give Gordon the new bus schedule". "But most of all we're sorry we don't have an ending to this skit."
back to gord limping and singing "I have the ending you're looking for ...oh no here comes the" and he gets hit by a truck...
announcer says "we're sorry.
_____________
The Royal Canadian Air Farce website should have clips/entire show on-line soon.
I'll watch for it...

Did some of you ever saw the SCTV skit they did on Gord, way back in the 80's.
Gordon Lightfoot sings every songs that's ever been written, Happy Birthday, Supergalafragilistic. I think Rick Moranis was doing the singing, as they showed lightfoot 's LP's. It was pretty good. Very Funny.
Then of course Burton Cummings doing GL singing of Rod Steward(t), Maggie May.
Do have the tapes for those. And the Burton CD, 'UP Close And Alone.'
