EXCELLENT WONDERFUL FANTASTIC NEWS!

My husband has agreed to go with me to see Gord in Vegas!!! (AND WE ARE LEAVING THE KIDS AT HOME WITH A SITTER!!! YIPPEEEEEEE!) It'll be our first night without 'em since they started coming along (12 years ago)!! He told me if I can get a sitter, we can do the Saturday night show! He's going to switch his schedule around to please me! (And folks, that doesn't happen too often.)Woweeeeee! So, this is what I want to know from all of you: is there a snowball's chance in hell of me getting to talk to Gord at the Vegas venue?? If not, I'll just be content to watch from afar... and dream...

Hey, good for you!! If your brother and (was it his girl friend or wife?) were available to go with you to Vegas Friday, maybe they will be available to stay with the kids Saturday???

As for talking with Gord, I imagine your chances would be 50/50. I'm not sure how it would work in a casino, but for other venues, folks have had success standing by the stage door waiting for them to come out. He is usualy very gracious with any fans waiting there. I was lucky in getting to go back stage when I saw him at Humphrey's back in 2000, but I attribute it to being in the right place at the right time with the right person

Thanks, Janice -- you've given me hope!!! As far as my brother staying over here with the kids, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaah -- in other words, no way !!! He says they drive him nuts! (He's a bachelor!!)

YES! We have a babysitter who has agreed to stay overnight and watch our kids! This is so surreal, I can't believe it!! How will I survive the agony of the anticipation until then???

O.K., this is even MORE excellent news than before:: Minstrel Man informed us that GL is playing not 15 minutes from my home on a night I can actually go!!! YIPPEEEEEEEE!! And, don't worry, I will conduct myself with perfect propriety, deference, and respectfulness as befits an adoring fan to a legend. <sigh>

Oh, man! No, I've decided to do the venue near my house -- it's just too perfect. Heck, every time he booked another show, it kept getting better, almost! So, since this last venue is 15 minutes away from my house, heck, I'll just ask him to stay at my house! I've got extra room! <eyebrows moving wickedly>

AND you will have your husband staying there too? Or will this be when he is working those long hours at the hospital? I'm sure your husband and Gord could talk about respiratory problems.

yes, actually, as of yesterday afternoon we were going to Vegas - then Minstrel Man told us about the new concert and I just had to take it. It's 15 min. from me, we won't have to buy plane tickets or hire an overnight babysitter... for us it's the best choice. I'm really sorry I won't be able to see you guys, though. We need to hook up in a live chat room with our webcams!!

Well, Deb, I checked the airline schedule, and there are no late night flights out Saturday night. And that is the night you guys were planning on attending, right? I can't do Saturday night, no way, no how. I must be back that evening because hubby has to leave for work at 5:15 a.m. But, I can still do Friday night -- want to reconsider?
