Could anyone help me with the Tab for this song? I would very thankful; after
the fantastic tribute concert here in Ottawa I have to get myself a good (tab) GL book that has all the details not just chords; any recommendations would also be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Halikarnas, I’m afraid I don’t have the tab for Pussywillows, Cat-tails. It’s not a song I play. (I was hoping one of the better players on this site would get back to you.) You didn’t actually say if you had the chords or not. If you have, ignore this. Anyway, I looked up the chords for you in my songbook and, as it’s simple, you should be able to work out the tab from this. Failing this, go to http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...usic.lightfoot . There are some absolutely brilliant players there.

Capo on third fret.

[Em]Pussywillows, [D]cat-tails, [C]soft winds and [Em]roses
Rainbows in the [D]woodland, [C]water to my [Em]knees
[Am7]Shivering, [D]quivering, the [G]warm breath of [E]spring
[Em]Pussywillows, [D]cat-tails, [C]soft winds and [Em]roses

The following three bars are A, Am and Em.

Catbirds and cornfields, daydreams together
Riding on the roadside the dust gets in your eyes
Reveling, disheveling, the summer nights can bring
Pussywillows, cat-tails, soft winds and roses

Slanted rays and colored days, stark blue horizons
Naked limbs and wheatbins, hazy afternoons
Voicing, rejoicing, the wine cups do bring
Pussywillows, cat-tails, soft winds and roses

Harsh nights and candlelights, woodfires a-blazin'
Soft lips and fingertips resting in my soul
Treasuring, remembering, the promise of spring
Pussywillows, cat-tails, soft winds and roses

Well, I don't think you're going to find a good tab for it in any of the books, at least not the ones I've seen. All I've seen only contain the piano music, lyrics and chords.

I play it, pretty close to what Gord plays, but not exactly. I think it's more of a combination of what Gord and Red plays.

Are you attempting to fingerpick it, or are you strumming? The chords are quite simple, but there are some interesting chord variations in the introduction and bridges between verses. Just what exactly do you need help with?

None of the songbooks has tab for Pussy Willows/Cattails. My advice is to take Cathy up on her kind offer. Trust me, you can't find a better person to help you out. She offered, so tell her what you need!
